Patrick Grahl, born in Leipzig, was first a member of the Thomanerchor under Georg Christoph Biller. He went on to study voice at the University of Music and Theatre “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” Leipzig under Berthold Schmid, completing his studies with a master class diploma. Masterclasses with Peter Schreier, Gotthold Schwarz, Gerd Türk, KS Ileana Cotrubas, and Prof. Karl-Peter Kammerlander gave significant impulses to his artistic development.
In 2016, he won first prize at the 20th International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition in Leipzig. Since then, he has become a sought-after oratorio and concert singer, appearing with ensembles such as the Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig, the Dresden Philharmonic, the NDR Radiophilharmonie, the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the RAI National Symphony Orchestra in Turin, and the London Symphony Orchestra, under conductors such as Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Sir Simon Rattle, Vladimir Jurowski, Daniele Gatti, Zubin Mehta, Manfred Honeck, Hans-Christoph Rademann, Andrew Manze, Omer Meir Wellber, and Stefano Montanari.
Alongside his many opera and oratorio engagements, Patrick Grahl places great importance on chamber music and song recitals. He works closely with pianists such as Daniel Heide and Klara Hornig.
