Polish soprano Magdalena Lucjan is a member of the ensemble at the Semperoper Dresden. In the 2025/26 season, she will make role debuts there as Pamina (The Magic Flute), Frasquita (Carmen), the High Priestess (Aida), and one of the Flowermaidens in Parsifal. Her previous appearances at the Semperoper include Papagena, Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges, and the world premiere of Ändere die Welt.
Lucjan is the first prize winner of two major international competitions: Neue Stimmen (Gütersloh, 2024) and the Karol Szymanowski International Music Competition (Katowice, 2023). She studied at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna and completed her master’s degree with distinction at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna under Michaela Schuster.
She has appeared in concert at the Cologne Philharmonie, Aalto-Musiktheater Essen, and the Festival der Musik in Wolfegg, performing with the Staatsorchester Stuttgart under Manfred Honeck. Other engagements include Gretel at the Grand Theatre Łódź, Isabelle in Milhaud’s Salade at the Beethoven Easter Festival in Warsaw, performances at Schönbrunn Palace Theatre in Vienna, the International Meistersinger Academy in Neumarkt, and the Ticino Musica Festival in Switzerland. She has worked with conductors such as Manfred Honeck and Umberto Finazzi.
