Klaus Florian Vogt is one of the leading Wagner tenors of our time and is internationally renowned for his interpretations of roles such as Lohengrin, Parsifal, Tannhäuser, Stolzing, Siegmund and Siegfried. He is a regular guest at the world’s foremost opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Vienna State Opera, the Teatro alla Scala in Milan and the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, and appears frequently at the Bayreuth and Salzburg Festivals.
He made his Bayreuth Festival debut in 2007 as Walther von Stolzing in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg and went on to achieve major success there as Lohengrin and in the title role of Parsifal. In recent years, he has expanded his repertoire to include the role of Siegfried in the two corresponding operas of the Ring des Nibelungen. In addition to his Wagner roles, his repertoire includes Florestan (Fidelio), Paul (Die tote Stadt) and Hoffmann (Les Contes d’Hoffmann), as well as lyric-dramatic parts such as Erik (Der fliegende Holländer) and the Prince (Rusalka).
Klaus Florian Vogt is also highly regarded as a concert and Lieder singer and has appeared with leading orchestras such as the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, the Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam and the Munich Philharmonic, working with conductors including Daniel Barenboim, Andris Nelsons, Mariss Jansons and Christian Thielemann. His extensive discography includes numerous acclaimed recordings, among them Lohengrin, Parsifal and Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg. In 2012 he was awarded the ECHO Klassik as „Artist of the Year“, and in 2019 he was named „Hamburger Kammersänger“ by the Senate of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.
