Julia Kleiter is one of the leading lyric sopranos of her generation. Since her debut as Pamina at Opéra Bastille in Paris, she has been a regular guest at major international venues including the Bavarian State Opera, Vienna State Opera, Teatro alla Scala Milan, Semperoper Dresden, the Metropolitan Opera New York and the Salzburg Festival. She has collaborated with conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Christian Thielemann, Philippe Jordan, Riccardo Muti and Andris Nelsons. Her repertoire includes roles such as the Contessa in Le nozze di Figaro, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Ilia in Idomeneo, Eva in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Agathe in Der Freischütz, Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus and the Marschallin in Der Rosenkavalier.
Julia Kleiter's 2026/27 season is marked by Beethoven, Mahler and major concert projects, including Beethoven's Missa solemnis, Symphony No. 9 with Christian Thielemann and a concert tour as Leonore in Fidelio with Pablo Heras-Casado. Further highlights include Brahms' A German Requiem in Cleveland and Mendelssohn's Lobgesang at the Rheingau Music Festival. On the opera stage, she returns to the Vienna State Opera as Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus and performs the title role in Beethoven's Leonore at Theater an der Wien.
A celebrated recitalist, Julia Kleiter regularly appears at venues and festivals including Wigmore Hall, the Heidelberg Spring Festival, Schloss Elmau, the Pierre Boulez Saal and the Schubertiade. Numerous recordings document her artistic work.
