Baritone Jonas Müller is the winner of the 2025 Music Prize of the German Economy. From the 2025/26 season, he will be a member of the International Opera Studio at Oper Frankfurt. He made his debut in 2024 at Winter in Schwetzingen as Adonis in J. S. Kusser’s eponymous opera and had previously appeared as Count Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro at the Münchner Cuvilliés-Theater and as Lubano in Der Stein der Weisen, whose recording was released by Sony Classics in 2024.
As a concert singer, he has performed with orchestras such as the Gewandhausorchester, the WDR Rundfunkorchester, and the Münchner Klangverwaltung, as well as in major venues in Berlin, Cologne, Munich, Hamburg, Modena, and Hong Kong. Lied singing is a particular focus for him, which he deepened in the Lied class of Prof. Christian Gerhaher and further developed through collaborations with pianists including Gerold Huber, Julius Drake, and Herbert Schuch.
Together with pianist Anna Gebhardt, Jonas Müller is a laureate of the 2024 International Competition for Lied Art organized by the Hugo Wolf Academy. He also collaborated with the guitar duo Tomasi-Musso on a new version of Schubert’s Winterreise, which has already been performed in Rome, Turin, and several German cities. The recording of this unique arrangement was released in autumn 2025 by Oehms Classics.
In 2024, Jonas also founded the chamber music and Lied festival “Ohefest” in Niederalteich.
