Born in 1999, Swiss countertenor Constantin Zimmermann studied at the Zurich University of the Arts and the Mozarteum University Salzburg, where he completed his master’s degree in the concert class of Prof. Juliane Banse with distinction. He has appeared at opera houses including Zurich and Frankfurt, as well as at the National Theatre in Brno, where he performed Ottone in Handel’s Agrippina in a critically acclaimed production recorded by ARTE. As a concert soloist, he works with leading orchestras and conductors including Ton Koopman, Václav Luks, Michael Hofstetter and Jan Willem de Vriend. Alongside his operatic and concert engagements, he explores Renaissance and early Baroque music with his own ensemble, Oblivion. His repertoire also encompasses contemporary music, and he took part in the European premiere of Du Yun’s opera Angel’s Bone at the Staatstheater Augsburg.
