Born in Jerusalem, Israel, Ammiel Bushakevitz began playing the piano at the age of four. As a Lied accompanist, soloist and chamber musician, he has performed on six continents, including New York's Carnegie Hall, London's Wigmore Hall, the Paris Philharmonie, Berlin's Konzerthaus, Amsterdam's Concertgebouw and the Shanghai Concert Hall. His festival appearances include: the festivals of Salzburg, Lucerne, Bayreuth, Aix-en-Provence, Milan, Montreal, Beijing, Brasilia, Heidelberg, Shanghai and the Schubertiades of Schwarzenberg, Hohenems, Vilabertran and Israel.

Ammiel Bushakevitz grew up in South Africa and studied in Leipzig and Paris. His teachers included Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Phillip Moll and Alfred Brendel. Ammiel Bushakevitz has a special love for Lied and was one of Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau's last private students. The artist works as a Lied accompanist with the leading Lied singers of today's generation, such as Ilker Arcayürek, Christian Gerhaher, Laetitia Grimaldi, Samuel Hasselhorn, Julia Kleiter, Katharina Konradi, Konstantin Krimmel, Dame Felicity Lott, Catriona Morison, Anna Prohaska, Anna Lucia Richter and Nadine Sierra.

Highlights of the season 2023/24 include concert appearances with orchestras in Cape Town, Brazil and Cologne, CD releases on Alpha, Deutsche Grammophon, Pentatone and Harmonia Mundi (including another solo album of piano works by Schubert), and performances at Wigmore Hall London, Concertgebouw Amsterdam and Palau de la Música Barcelona, concert halls in Vienna and Berlin, and Rockefeller Center NY.

Ammiel regularly offers master classes for young pianists, such as at the Israeli Academy of Music in Jerusalem, the University of Queensland, the Beijing Conservatory, the Universitat de Barcelona and the University of Colorado. He gives benefit concerts and master classes for humanitarian organisations in Ethiopia, Brazil, China, Morocco, Mexico, South Africa and Zimbabwe. Ammiel Bushakevitz lives in Berlin and Paris and is an alumnus of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), a member of the Société des Arts Sciences et Lettres de Paris, an Edison Fellow of the British Library, London and artistic director of the international art association Les Voix d'Orphée in Paris.

In 2013, Ammiel Bushakevitz released his debut solo CD, an album of piano works by Schubert. The recording became the soundtrack of the Austrian film Gwendolyn. Since then, several award-winning CD recordings have been made. Just recently, the CD of Schubert's 'Die schöne Müllerin' with baritone Samuel Hasselhorn is awarded the Diapason d'Or. In October 2023, the recording 'Licht!' with Anna Lucia Richter will be released.
